Official Nissan video: GT-R laps Nürburgring in 7:29
June 5th, 2008 Posted in Nissan, VideoHere is a much cleaner clip of Nissan’s official footage of the much hyped R35 GT-R lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7 minutes, 29 seconds. It was initially claimed this car was showroom stock, but, apparently the car used in this lap has had some ‘minor tweaks’ for the Japanese market. It is expected these changes will make it to other markets soon after. The audio is much better than in the clip posted a few days ago and you get a much better sense of the lap, even if the sound of the car inside the cabin lacks character. Tochio Suzuki is at the wheel and the footage was filmed on 17 April 2008.
Thanks to Lee for tip.

The statement that the car was “tweaked” above is incorrect.
This lap was done in a JDM spec car exactly as a customer would receive it. Head of development Kazutoshi Mizuno is quite adamant about this.
The confusion starts because there are currently two variants testing on the Nordschleife. The 2010 Spec V and the European market GT-R which is being “tweaked” from the JDM settings.

Thanks for the clarification on that. There is certainly a lot of confusion/speculation out there. I was under the impression this car was running R-spec rubber. I think Drivers Republic ran a story about the car used in this lap, but my memory may be failing me.
Cheers
