Nissan GT-R Rapid Response Vehicle
August 4th, 2009 Posted in Nissan, Nurburgring newsAccidents happen at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. We all know this. And, thanks to the Nissan marketing machine, we all know the GT-R can make its way around the Ring in double quick time. So, what better car to use for a Rapid Response Vehicle than Nissan’s “Godzilla”.
Essentially you’re looking at the world’s fastest fire engine! The rear seat has been ripped out not to lighten the load, but to fit a specially equipped fire retardent tank (foamy stuff basically). Access to the tank is via a hose fitted inside the boot of the GT-R. A race-spec roll cage helps keep Fireman Sam safe and sound on his way to the scene. Nice!

I reckon that thing could deploy, extinguish the fire and still finish the lap in under 10 minutes!
Seriously though, what a great idea. Hats off to them for being prepared to spend the $$$ (even if Nissan did subsidise it as marketing) for the safety of their patrons!
