Today we bring you a rather depressing video which highlights how quickly unexpected dangers can present themselves on the Ring. Here, an otherwise competent driver is tracking his Lotus Exige. He does the right thing by moving aside to allow quicker cars go past. Then, on the descent to Adenau bridge, the driver comes across some oil on the track and from that point on becomes a passenger.

Thankfully, no injuries were suffered following the heavy impact. The same can’t be said for the poor Lotus.

As you will see at the start of the video oil had been dropped all down the track on entry into one of the heavier braking points on the track. We wonder how many other cars went off in the same spot that day?
