There’s six hours left in the 43rd running of the Nürburgring 24 Hour race. At the moment the lead car is the #28 Audi R8 LMS which has covered 105 laps.

Throughout the previous 18 hours there has been multiple lead changes with as many as nine different cars heading the field at various stages. There’s currently five cars on the lead lap, including two BMWs, a Porsche and a Mercedes.

During the night session rain and difficult conditions claimed a number of lead cars, including the #30 Porsche of Sabine Schmitz, which crashed out while leading the race. The #1 Audi R8 also crashed out of the lead overnight.

After the break we’ve got a listing of the cars featuring Australian and New Zealand drivers. Peter Scharmach (NZL) head the antipodean list in the #91 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Class SP7).

AUSringers regulars Mal Rose (AUS) in the #49 Aston Martin V8 Vantage (Class SP8) and Wayne Moore (NZ) in the #51 BMW 335i (Class SP8T) seem to be circulating well.

Of the 10 cars featured below, as best we can tell, there’s been only two retirements so far, which is a pretty good effort. Fingers crossed all the remaining cars reach hour 24 in good health.
