Bend it like Schumacher?
Since retiring from full time racing seven time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher has been keeping his toe in the water by taking on a testing and development role with Ferrari’s road car program. The Italian manufacturer recently hired the Nürburgring to test the Ferrari F430 Scuderia and Michael certainly kept his toe in it. For a bit too long it seems. Apparently, he crashed this prototype at the high speed Schwedenkreuz section. It is believed the car was travelling at around 250km/h at the time he lost control. His young son Mick was also in the car. Fortunately neither were hurt. In true racing driver style Michael senior’s communication with the pits was a pragmatic “We have crashed the car but are going to continue with another one”.
