Porsche GT3 rolls at Nürburgring Nordschleife
March 30th, 2008 Posted in Porsche, VideoOuch! This has got to hurt. Spotted recently on YouTube is this clip of a 996 Porche 911 GT3’s Nordschleife adventure going very, very pear shaped. The good news is that nobody appeared to be hurt, and amazingly the windscreen looks largely unaffected. The accident happened just after the jump at Pflanzgarten I and speculation would suggest that the driver left his braking a wee bit late and was caught out by the jump, thereby being setup badly for the subsequent right hander.

Oops, I got a bit sucked in by the post date on YouTube and thought this crash was kind of recent. A couple of pointers that meant I should have known better … 1) the new perimeter fencing at the Pflanzgarten viewing section is not visible and 2) a still pic of this car was featured in the February 2006 edition of Australian magazine Motor.
