Dutton Rally’s Ultimate Nürburgring Tour

The organisers of Australia’s Dutton Rally are planning a very tasty holiday itinerary. At just under a week and including a cross continental Europe route behind the wheel of some true exotic supercars, along with two days at the Ring in race prepped track day machines, it has to be close to the ultimate road trip! To the best of my knowledge this is the first organised tour for Australians to head to the Nürburgring. Please excuse their unforgiveable logo, but for your predicted cost of AU$12K (plus airfares), according to their website (click for more), you’ll enjoy the following:

  • Hire of 6 Supercars and 2 Range Rovers for 6 days across Europe (you will drive each one)
  • Hire of 8 fully prepared race cars at Nürburgring (you will drive each one)
  • Accommodation in London (1 night), Belgium/France (2 nights) and Nürburg (3 nights)
  • Return Eurotunnel trip from London/France
  • Welcome dinner/drinks in the UK (London based), lunch/dinner in Belgium/France each way through Europe
  • $500 fuel kitty for each person (excess to be paid or refunded to each person at the conclusion of trip)
  • Track hire at Nürburgring for 2 days, on a specialist track day

The list of race prepped cars secured has been announced in the Tour update, dated 26 November 2007. They include:

  • Volkswagen Golf GTI
  • Renault Megane Sport R26-F1
  • BMW 320si E90 Sedan
  • BMW 325ci E92 Coupe
  • Nissan 350Z
  • BMW M3 E36 Coupe
  • Porsche Cayman S
  • BMW E92 M3 V8

Remember, these are listed as being fully prepared track cars, so there’s no need to be put off by the age of some of those cars.

Firm dates and costs are yet to be confirmed, suffice to say the budget is probably out of my reach, sadly. Apparently there are only 16 places available, so if you’re keen it might pay to visit the website and register your interest today.

If you’re going on this trip, I’d love to hear from you.
