Nürburgring on Google Maps

Ever wanted to check out the Nurburgring on Google Maps? Well, click HERE and you can.
As a special treat for AUSringers readers I have tiled together the Google Maps images to make a complete map of the Nordschleife. All images have the main corners labelled, with the exception of the Grand Prix circuit. For some reason the images from Google are well out of date as the Mercedes Arena complex is not shown on the GP track.

Just a quick question. Whats the best way for an aussie travelling in Europe to take a day out and do a lap or more at the ring. Can one just show up in a rental and do a couple of laps?
All one would need is a international licence?

I’m not sure if you actually need an international licence, but getting one would be a good idea. You get them from NRMA and they’re pretty cheap, more so if you’re an NRMA member.
As for turning up to the Nordschleife with a rental and doing a few laps, in theory you can, but it’s probably not advised. Follow the link below for more info:

I have a couple of options on my Links page for companies that do dedicated rentals for the Nurburgring.
Actually, make sure you have a good read of Ben Lovejoy’s site, pretty much everything you need to know about the Ring is on there.
Oh, unless you have a few days to spare, it will be a good idea to confirm that the Nordschleife will be open for Touristenfahrten (TF) driving. You can do that by visiting the official Nurbugring website (again, see my Links page).

He has a great selection of cars and also is a great guide, especially for your first few laps - hes a really nice guy - on the day we rented he even came back later that afternoon and took me, my son, and my wife around in his personal car (I had only rented a 2 seater so couldn’t do all of us myself…)
