We thank Tim Hahne from Stereoscreen for bringing our attention to this video showing Hans-Joachim Stuck driving the legendary Porsche 956.007 at the Nürburgring. We thank Tim for two reasons, firstly because it’s a video he’s had a hand in, so we know it will be first class. But, mostly, we thank him because this is just such a cool story.

Chassis 007 is the car Stefan Bellof drove to a genuine Nürburgring lap record—6 minutes 11.13 seconds—in qualifying for the 1983 1000km race. Sadly, Bellof was taken away from us way too soon. And yet, seeing his legacy live on at the Ring, through footage like this and the naming of the Stefan-Bellof -S corner, is a small but fitting tribute to his talent.

This video, with commentary from Stuck, is another reminder of the great abilities of Bellof and the 956. It’s just a shame it only goes for a touch over three minutes. We could watch stuff like this for hours.
